Landcare in the Central West
The Central West Catchment is located in central western NSW and includes the Castlereagh, Bogan and Macquarie River valleys. The catchment covers an area of 8.5 million hectares from the tablelands around Oberon, Bathurst and Rylstone to the western plains of Nyngan and Coonamble.
There are 73 active Landcare and NRM groups across the Central West catchment focusing on a range of issues from native bush regeneration and protection, to sustainable farming practices.

NRM Working Group

The Central West NRM Working Group is a regional group comprised of representives from the individual groups. The role of this group is to:

  • Facilitate communication, coordination and education in natural resource management between the various groups and networks comprising the Central West NRM Community; and
  • Facilitate communication, coordination and collaboration between the Central West NRM Community and the CWCMA to improve natural resource management across the Catchment.
